A contestent on a phone in quiz on the radio has just anounced that she had never heard of the beatles!!!
She said, 'i'm only 19. how am i suposed to know who they are. i wasnt born in the sixties.'
The radio host Toby Foster came back with, 'im only 37, but i know who Shakespeer is'

yea, my wife is ten years my junior, but she is into the same music as me. her friends, who are the same age as her think her mad when she tells them that she likes Depeche mode and INXS.

Yup, Echo Beach came on the radio once and I said "oooh, I love this!" and was faced with blank looks....
"How do you know this?!"

Echo beach is a great song. I think in the 90's music went really down hil, but it seems to be picking up again. there are some great bands around at the moment, Maroon 5, Franz ferdinand, Arctic monkeys. Sadly, justin timberlake is still around though!

that is quite stupid to give an answer like she did, and quite narrow minded. it's funny, this sort of thing is said to my girlfriend at work, when people ask her what sort of music she like, she mentions mo-town (amonst many others) people look at her and say "oo isn't that a bit before your time!" lol.. idiots... i mean what is that all about. like you should limit your experiences to that of within your birth and death dates.! hahaahah
