actually i bought it from a car boot sale. I have always wanted to learn to play, and some might say that at 37 i have left it a little late,(dont most musical protogees start in the whomb?) but what the hell. It is important that i learn to play, as i write lyrics, and have done for many years now, but having no musical ability, i can neither write or play (I did play recorder in school-Badly) and having a singing voice like a cat in a blender. all my lyrics are is a collection of words. Words without music are no use to anyone, and wont even be considered by most music/song producers.
I do have a medly in my head when i write them, and i have tried to sing them onto my dictaphone, but listening back is agony to me, so i could never subject the torture on anybody else.
So, i bought the guitar, and a book that says it is easy to learn, and if i follow the instructions in the book, and practice then i wil pick it up in no time. The book lied!!
The problem i seem to have, is that my fingers refuse to move fast enough to change key (Do they call it a key?). I guess my dreams of being the next Slash or Gary Moore are a long way off, and as usual my patience wears very thin.

I started learning when I was 26 . .
It's just practice. Funny thing is, when you're learning you want to be able to play quicker. Once you can play you actually enjoy playing really slow.
Stick at it, you can soon whack out some cool tunes using really easy chords.
