In Rotherham town centre is a giant TV screen, a permenant erection a a large post. To the best of my knowledge nobody watches it, but it runs all day long. The council, for reasons best known only to themselves decided that it was worth spending the tax payers money on this, even though the town centre id suffering from the fact that all the majour shops have moved to a retail park two miles out of town. ![]()
Now the council have hit upon the idea of showing messages to people from their loved ones. What are the odds that they will be there at the right time?
Marks and Spencer moved out two years ago, the shop that they left is stil boarded up, BHS left about ten years ago, all that remains are charity shops, banks, and pubs....Then there is us, our little craft shop, and one or two other independent traders.
Now the council have closed down four car parks to build flats, or as they put it, 'luxuary appartments'. Madness.
Though, my wife is ten years my junior and didn't know who tufty was..
