    Lost

A friend of mine appears to have vanished off the face of the Earth.

It has been five weeks now since I saw/spoke to/heard from him.

He is not answering the door, his telephone, or returning my text messages.

I used to see him once a week, without fail. Now he seems to have dissapeared.

He lives alone, is out of work right now so nobody would miss him, his parents live in Spain, and his sister 40 miles away, so they do not see each other on a regular basis.

    :??:

  • :??: How odd.

    Not involved the police yet??

  • Goodness.

    Call someone .. anyone.

I hope if no-one sees me they won't wait five weeks.

Sorry to sound harsh but maybe a quick call to the local police and voice your concerns and hopefully it will all turn out to be that he took off on vacation and forget to mention it.

He is something of a loner, in the past i have been over to his flat, knocked on the door and had no responce, then a couple of days later he would ask "did you knock on my door on Sunday? I heard someone, but i couldnt be bothered to talk to anyone."

It's never been this long before though. Maybe the police are going to be the next step.

  • Have you looked through every window you can get to?

If yes then I say call the police.

If no, then do that, if still no joy then call the police.

    Or break in.

  • could it be that he is in Spain visiting his parents? Hadn't you better contact his family first if that is possible?

Have you got any mutual friends who may know of his whereabouts?

It is odd, with today's "stalker" tag worrying more and more people, and some folks "deleting" friends like they do emails and with text messages so easy to ignore, no-one seems to want to genuinely concern themselves anymore for fear of being labelled obsessive.

It is also very inconsiderate of him to pretend you don't exist, as a quick text back from him would put your mind at rest and stop you hassling him, if hassled is how he feels. You are not a mind-reader, so don't give up!
