Damn that out dated equipment.

I am currently writing a script. Not sure yet whether it is going to be for stage or screen.(or even if it will come to anything at all)

It is saved on my flash drive, and on floppy disk.

For reasons I cant explain I have not kept a copy on my hard drive.

Today my wife wanted to use the flash drive, so i came out to work with the flopy disk, and as it is quiet i thought i would have half an hour working on said scrip.

Try to open disk, message comes up,

"Disk not formated."

Well it was fine at 11.30 last night.

Now i have no copy to work on untill i get home.

Probably dust in the floppy drive, Maplin sell kits that contain cleaning discs.

I had this problem at work, the kit cost a tenner and I can buy new drives for abotu afiver but it is a lot easier banging in a cleaning disc that taking the machine apart when all you want to do is load up some old files.

I would shy away from floppies though there is no market or money in them so the only ones made now are cheap shite, anyway they are nto too reliable at the best of times and the capacity is small.

You can get bew flash drives for a few quid or buy a 256Mb one of eabay for sod all.

Total piss off though!

  I rarely use floppy disks now, but my wife wanted to borrow the flash drive to print something at work because our printer has decided to pack up, it's a Lexmark and has been nothing but trouble since the day we bought it, and the replacement inks cost a bloody fortune.

  I know. if only i could do it full time. Things always seem to get in the way, and my brain is always filled with ideas when i have no pen/dictaphone to hand. I try to remember, but customers start asking me questions and i can never remember by the time i get to my note book.

bloody computers are supposed to make life easier arent they its a load of old tosh! life was a lot easier before they came along I know as I work with the bloody things 24/7
