I'm not talking Heaven and Hell and stuff, I'm refering to our blogs.
An old school friend of mine was killed in a motorbike crash a couple of months ago, and his Facebook page is still out there as he left it.
People who dont know that he has died are still posting things on there, how long do these things rtemain un touched before somebody shuts them down, or do they remain for ever, just out there in cyber space?
Perhaps in that way something of you will never really die.

its a lovely thought isnt it just leaving a blog footprint out there in cyberspace to be discovered at some later date but alas I assume as programs are outdated and the next big thing happens then these little niches of cyber space will sadly cease to be

Pro It depends on the policy of the site. Some sites deactivate accounts if they are unused for, say, 6 months, but others have no such restrictions. Essentially, they might keep it up forever until someone tells them to take it down.
As an example, I made myself a website when I was about 16 with my first ever ISP, I moved out when I was 18 and had a new ISP at my new place, my page is still there on the internet, even though the account hasn't been accessed for almost ten years. It's just a tiny bit of hard drive space on some server somewhere. It's likely more hassle to go and delete it files than it costs them to keep them there. When they move to new servers, they will probably just take all the information from the old ones and that page will live on!
I'm gonna hand my blog onto my sons one day.

I have a mate that was killed 3 years ago in a car crash and she still has an MSN space profile thing going. Its bizarre!

A good interesting question, don't know the answer but it would be nice to think that we leave a little bit of us around for a while.
