Is tjhe question I thought I was going to have to ask this morning....

I got on the bus, paid my fair and went to sit down. I took my book out of my bag and started to read. Next thing I know somebody is tapping me on the shoulder. I look up, and it's the bus driver.

He's standing there holding out his hand, palm up with a small object sitting on it. I look closer and i see that it's a one poind coin. He says,

"This is a dudd you just gave me."
"A dudd?" I said./
"Yes." He replied. "I cant acept it, please change it."
"But I was just given it in my change in the Newsagents when I bought the Radio times and a twix." I said (I dont know why I felt the need to tell him what I had bought).

He said

"Not my problem. Please change it."

I rumaged through my wallet, offered him a twenty note, but he refused to change that, so I managed to scrape the fair together in shrapnol. coppers and five p's. The woman sat in front of me was looking at me over her sholder like I was intentionaly trying to scam the driver with a fake coin, so I said, realy loudly.

"I cant beleive that news agents gave me a fake coin."

She said,

"Yea. Whatever." Then muttered something under her breath and turned around.

And do you know what? After all that I still said, "Cheers mate." when I got of the bus.
