There are some strange people in this world. 2,500 people tried to telephone the Doctor after 'his' number was shown in the episode Stolen Earth.
They were greated with a recorded message informing them that the number was not recognised, and several called the BBC to complain.
So these people dont realise that The Doctor is a fictional character?
