  • Erm...why did nobody tell me

That these white linnen pants are ALMOST TRANSPARENT when i stand in the sun?

An yes, I did go out 'commando'.

  • Bugger!

The BBC, they say 'No'.

Yup. They returned my script with a nice little note telling me that they were not going to take it up, but not to be to dissapointed, there were some good parts to it, and it was a nice idea, but it was let down by some of the characters being too 'one dimensional'.

I'm not too dissapointed (he said through gritted teeth), it was the first script I had sent to the Beeb, so it was unlikely to come to anything.

I have two more on the go, so i shall persevere.

On a lighter note, I just made a total arse of myself on the bus. I lost my balance and ended up sitting on some tattoed, skinhead blokes knee. |-|

  • OK I can't put this off any longer.

I'm going out to get a hair cut.

  • Show me the money

Were told that we shouldn’t buy cheap clothing from shops such as Primark because children in third world countries are making the goods in sweat shops. Some just ten and eleven year old, working 18 hours a day in these terrible conditions for little pay.

Were told that we shouldn’t buy cheap poultry from the supermarket because the chickens are forced to live in terrible conditions, so cramped that they don’t even have the room to turn around. We should, we are told buy more expensive chickens, ones that have lived a full ‘free range’ life.

In both cases, theoretically I agree, but financial circumstances dictate that there is no option.

The majority of us these days are on a tight budget, with the rising cost in utility bills, in the price of fuel, and with food bills set to sky rocket we are all going to be more and more shopping in Primark, and similar shops, we are all going to be buying budget range chicken.

Hugh Fernly Whitingstall may not like it, but we don’t have the money he has.
